Seasonal fresh up – spring’s must-have bags

When it comes to spring trends, one of the thrilling purchases to make are accessories – in particular bags. So whats going to do this season justice?

Scrolling through magazines and social media, it’s pretty clear: summery, effortlessly cool and no longer just for the beach – the straw bag is a major thing like no other in 2018.

Once the weather starts to spread fun, so can you! While I already had an eye on Cult Gaia’s instagrammable half-moon shaped Ark bag (bamboo) last summer, straw bags are still kicking and now come in lots of chic iterations. From handmade natural rattan and wicker to acrylic styles and shapes, covered in playful pom poms or boho style embroideries, it’s definitively one of the cutest trends for the upcoming season!

Initially introduced by Jane Birkin in the 1970s, the woven basket bag made it up to the streets, embracing fashion influencer’s Instagram feeds. A trend, that I will definitively follow for a while!

From affordable price tags to major fashion houses like Prada – SS 18 is truly all about the woven bag and everybody needs one! Have a look at my favorite selection and don’t hesitate to shop – I know it is hard to resist:

I´ve added lots of different styles and sizes to my shopping cart and today I’m rounding up 3 basket-carrying spring looks, making the understated accessory look effortlessly cool.

Outfit 3: ‘Picnic chic’ – No, the fashion circuit isn’t meeting up for a picnic in the park!     It´s time to swap away your trusty black leather cross body bag for a little picnic-esque carryall hanging from your fingertips.

  • Paperback waist pants and striped body new (both)
  • Leather jacket new (red)
  • Picnic-inspired cross body straw bag with fringe detailing new (natural straw)
  • Cat-eye sunglasses Marc Jacobs last season (new style)

A spring win when pairing with a colorful leather topper! And you won’t have any difficulties to wear these woven bags with your summer wardrobe, too, including easy breezy flowy linen dresses, lightweight pants or crochet shirts. BTW we just booked our next trip where lots of these cute straw accessories are hand-made – guess where?

  1. I can’t even tell how much I love straw/basket bags!
I bought my favourite one several years ago for just a few bugs in a vintage store and still wear it almost every day in summer!
But I also really love the one you showed in this blogpost. 😉

    xx
